Hi Udo!
Very nice pictures you have taken. I like them very much, particularyly the little ones are really cute.
I'd like to talk a special subject. What are your relations to your chidren like ? Are you in good terms ? Live you nearby or far apart ? Trigger for my question is, I tried -again-to establish contact to my daughter who lives about 100 km away near Stuttgart. It's my daughter from first marriage. And a few days ago she let me know, she didn't want any contact and "please leave me alone". My oldest son has died a few years ago and a second son lives in Potsdam, 800 km away and he broke down contact a few years ago. You see it's not so funny and i'd like to know what's your experience with tis subject. Do you think we could discuss this subject or would it be too privat ?
Regards
Manfred.
There's been so much on my mind lately that i'm totally out of my mind right now.😉
And what shall we do in the meantime witout you.😭
You happy one !😁
Good education is more than half the life.
I grew up after the war, born in 1948, in a small village near Baden-Baden.
My father was an engin-mechanic with Daimler-Benz in Gaggenau. In our Village most Children only attended " 8 Jahre Hauptschule ". after that they made an apprentisship somewhere to be a skilled worker. The boys mostly with Daimler-Benz like most of her fathers did. After 3 Jears there was an Examination und you got a diploma. That was it on education. After that I worked for 45 Jears in te same companie until retirement. Not very exciting such al life. But it was more or less normal in my surroundings. When I started learnig English as a 60 jear old most people didnt understand and said I wasn't quite right in my head. But here I am. I'm able to read english novels by Elisabeth George or John Grisham, even Ernest Hemingway and its great fun for me. It's become a nice hobby and I'm spending a lot of time in doing so.
Unfortunately you cant wind back time otherwise I would do some things differently.
But there is this saying about spilled milk or so.

Wowww !!!
How many contrybutions in this area of the forum at once. I'm very glad about that. So I'm able to enlarge ? my vocabulary in english.
I enjoyed the cyclingstorys very much. But it was a long time ago, So I wonder how old you are ? My guess would be 80 at least. Am i right ? I'm turnig 73 in september. Please help me, if I'm making grammatical mistakes. You know, I never attended an english class in school. So when I retired at the age of 60 I started learnig English by attendig classes on VHS. Unfortunately, my pronounciation is terrible out of lack of practical experience. But I'm able to read and write, so I can understand you quite well. I'm quite astonished about the huge vocabulary Udo is using here and I do envy him very much.
Where did you learne all of it ? Where you living in an english-speaking country or did you need it professionelly ? I hope I don't bother you too much with my questions.
So for today it's enough.

Manfred
I used to watch Tour de France on Television as well . I even saw them ride in reality on several occasions as I live near the french border. Sometimes they cross the border to ride one etappe or two in the black forest und then go back to the Vogesen. But that was when Jan Ulrich was still riding. Long time ago.
And then I was doing a lot of sport myself being a marathonn runner for 20 Years. So I was no longer interested in watching other people doing sport😄
Recently I was watching european soccer championship. Unfortunately the german team was eliminated by the Three Lions and now im crossing my fingers in favor of the Squadra Azzura.
Udo, are you still riding your bycicle ?
Regards Manfred
To get answers you first have to ask questions. So I'm asking you: How has corona changed your personal life ? As to me, I 've been a member of an older people choir and I have not seen my choire mates for more than a year and I miss singing very much. do you have similar eyperiences ?

Hi Barbara, hattest du dein Geschäft etwa in Karlsruhe am Kronenplatz ? Das Foto kommt mir so bekannt vor.
Liebe Grüße Manfred aus Karlsruhe.
Hi Udo !
You won't believe it but I was there !!! There where ? Some Years ago my wife und I spent our summerholydays in Schleswig-Holsteinin. We were staying in the Malente -area. We were by car, so we could nicely explore parts of your homeland. And one day we visited Schloß Gottorf with its famous Swampcorpses. I still remember this "girl from the swamps" with its red hair. Am I right ? An I also still remember how my wife was scared by those corpses so she went out and waited for me outside. And if I remember well the same day we visited the Vikink-museum near by.
I liked it very much your homeland and I think it's a shame its so far from where I live.
best regards
Manfred
Hi Udo !
Do you live near this vaste swamp area and where would that be ? And wouldn't it be quite dangerous to walk on swamp ? Are there marked paths. Me too, I like walking in such areas.
I grew up at the edge of Black Forest near Baden-Baden and i loved it very much walking in the vast forests, it's mysterious lakes und there are swamps as well where you only kann walk on wooden paths.
Unfortently it's an at least 50km car trip to get there from where I live now.
best regards, Manfred
