This talk of Yuval Noah Harari is the best he ever gave - my opinion.

In his talk, Yuval Noah Harari analyzes the emergence of Artificial Intelligence (AI) against the backdrop of a collapsing liberal world order, warning of a shift towards a chaotic, super-competitive era of national "fortresses" [01:20].

• Defining AI: He redefines AI not merely as a tool ("Artificial Intelligence") but as "Alien Intelligence"—a foreign, non-human intelligence and an unpredictable, independent agent [08:31].
• The Threat: Harari argues the biggest threat is not malice, but the alien nature of AI, which could lead to new financial systems, ideologies, or even religions that are unintelligible to humans [13:50]. He cautions that AI could escape human control, not as killer robots, but as autonomous, non-human agents, such as corporations run by AI executives [24:19].
• The Solution: To survive and flourish, humanity must develop the wisdom necessary to use this new power. The most crucial task is building more trust among humans [29:03] before developing super-intelligent AIs, as AIs learn from our behavior. If humanity is divided, AI will escape our control; if we cooperate, we can develop the technology safely.
