Dear Magret,
as yet the winter was mild, but now the winter is back. It´s snowing overnight. So I had to shovel snow in the morning. After that I had an appointment with the doctor. I had to drove very slow, because the streets were slithery. A storm or a little snow is usually enough to bring the transport to a standstill.
Since 8 o´clock I´ve been on my foot. Now I want to have a rest.
I´m reading a book on the history of the battle of the nation "Kriegsfeuer - 1813" by Sabine Ebert. It´s very interesting.

I just want to tell you that I cannot join you tomorrow night in the chatroom. We are going to meet with the participants of our Dubai-journey. There are two men who promised to make a foto-show. I am sure it will not be as short as my Dubai-blog which I put here into "Reiseberichte". I wonder how they see and judge everything what we were so enthusiastic about.

yes, it was a very nice evening. We all liked to recall the days together. There were lots of fotos and even one video with nice comments. The organizer now offers two more journeys for 2015: Florida and/or Oman. But...first of all we haven't won the jack-pot in the lottery and besides that our 86-year-oldie is very frail now. So we cannot plan any holiday for the moment. Time will tell...
What are you planing for this year? And - Bärbel, how is your knee?

since you are a bookworm, too, I can recommend the following book to you:
"Blood from a Stone" by Donna Leon. It's a crime, written in best English! It is throughout easily understandable though there is a very fine vocabulary. Donna Leon has best critics with her Brunett- crimes acting in Venice. thanks für the hint. Maybe I want to order that book by Donna Leon. I need readings for my stay in the health resort in March.
At the Moment I´m reading the book "Religion in der Verantwortung" by Helmut Schmidt. It´s very interesting - with regard to the political situation.

Who is the frail 86-year-oldie? Your fellow Dubai-traveller? Or relative?

I´ve still problems with my knee. I´m getting treatment and hope it will be better soon.

On Sunday there is a birthday of my hubby. I have zu prepare something to eat for that party. We´re a big family. So I need a lot for cooking.

first of all I wish your husband all the best for his birthday. With such a big party you have a lot to prepare and no time to take care of your knee. Probably you suffer from Arthrose, do you? I wonder what health resort you will go to in March?

Hello Rosemarie, hello to all of you,

It was a nice family party on Sunday. We had not only discussions about politics (one grandson is studying politics and sociology at university) but also games. We had a lot of fun.
You´re right I´m suffering from Arthrose and meniscus damage.
In March I get a cure and go to the health resort Prerow on the Baltic Sea. I`m looking forward to it.

The snowdrops are in full blossom, and crocuses partly. They are one of the first flowers to come out in spring. It looks very nice in my garden.

Who of you celebrate carnival? I´m not. I "celebrate" it in front of TV. That´s all.

Next Sunday we have a birthday party of a grandchild.
