My time in Freiburg ensured that ski trips to Switzerland were regular events.
Sooo enjoyable !
Another reason for trips South was Volleyball. Our Freiburger Team used to play
regularly against the Swiss National Team.... (but that is a few 😃 years ago).

When our children were little we enjoyed spending holidays in England´s soouthwest. We found a wonderful campsite in Ladram Bay. Sunshine, beach, cliffs, nice neighbours, fossils,entertainment.
Would like to go there again.

I lived in the area of Bournemouth first and later in Alderholt near Ringwood.
I spend a lot of time in the New Forest riding.

Very interesting to read where you spent your years/visits in/to the SW of England.
My first exploration of the entire South Coast (from Dover to Land's End) was achieved
on a 3 gear bicycle in my student days. Certainly a beautiful coastline from East to West.
I have lived here now for longer than I ever anticipated......😄😃....
Just about 500m below Knill's Monument also known as the Steeple. The area is known
for its large beautiful sandy beaches, rocky cliffs, and -sometimes- wild weather.
But I miss high mountains, climbing, snow, and skiing.
So what ??? 😆

My first trip to Spain was in June 1953. My mother drove the car a fact that surprised many people in Spain who saw us.on the road. We went all the way through France and Spain as far south as Córdoba, Granada and Sevilla. We visited the Alhambra being the almost only visitors.on that day.

Yes that is the way I felt about Cornwall. Another world! The last time I was in the area though...( in June) there were so many tourist around that it had at that moment lost the magical impression I had of it.
As I have friends in Swanage, where I spent my first year in the country, I go there when I am over in GB.
I worked in a boy’s prep school as a scullery maid. That was a good time.
Nice to talk about it I dwell in the memories now.
