English how about just conversation?
what a lovely early morning outlook! Thanks !!
My early outlook "homewards" looks like this.
I haven't been to Germany now for 2 years. Would have been unthinkable before Covid.
😢😢
Greetings to ALL,

You can´t throw away a brand new Volvo after only 37 km. What is wrong with that car? Are you not satisfied with its performance? Or did you just forget three oohs?
So you are now looking for a Yaris Hybrid to replace it.Toyota is a good car manufacturer. And the Yaris is not a bad car. Several years ago I rented a Yaris in Kagoshima. I was very pleased with it, although it was not a hybrid. In those days hybrids didn´t exist or were not on the market. The only flaw was the view of the dashboard instruments. They looked as if they were placed in a kind of tunnel, a bit out of my clear view as I was and still am short-sighted. As I have to wear glasses when driving, the data seemed a bit blurred at that distance. Maybe and hopefully Toyota has changed that.
Are you going to buy a new car?
All the best and good luck. Udo
Hello dear Lerge,
Two years away from the home country, does this mean accumulated homesickness? I think England´s Southwest is so beautiful that you must feel entirely at home there. For me it is already such a long time that I didn´t visit Dorset, Devon and Cornwall, almost an eternity. Maybe I will go there again. My heart says: go. Corona however says:. stay where you are. So I´ll have to wait for an occasion sometime in the future.

This is a view from the Aschberg tower. In the far distance, on the horizon, a tiny blue line is visible: The coast of the Baltic.
@Rose42
Dear Rosemarie,
Not every morning is so magical and not every morning I wake up early enough. jump out of bed, skip shaving, hop in the car and feel the desire of watching sunrise at the lake. But it happens. Several years ago, I could persuade my wife to accompany me. Recently she takes more time to get ready, so it´s preferable to let her enjoy the warmth and coziness of the bed and let her get up when I am back from my excursion and welcome me with a tasty breakfast.
Dear Rosemarie, what are the highlights in your actual life?
Love. Udo

I should have written 37.000 km There were a few zeros missing.
The reason is, we have a little 2 seater car a Smart for 2. We use that one most of the time.
Of course the Volvo is a super car and very safe. BUT to stay in the Garage only is a shame as well. Now we bought a Toyota Yaris Hybrid a new car in a sort of brown bronze. There are a lot of special things in it. The Japanese know how to improve thngs and it works well.
We can bring the Vovo next week and collect the Yaris.
Hi @ dear Udo,
another lovely photo! Thank you.
Did you climb on Bismarck’s shoulders to catch the view to the Baltic?
You reminded me of my summer term in Hamburg and memorable trips inland around the area. I do miss our regular visits to Germany, however ‘homely’ Cornwall has become. But Covid and Brexit have had their negative effects and have created annoying barriers. But “such is life”.
Greetings from the G7 location 😅, Lerge
Dear Udo,
The early morning you describe is realy delicious! You must ralize it as often as you can! My highlight these days is a phonecall from our granson, who has begun his apprenticeship in a very fine hotel - he seems to be happy with his decision to become a hotel-expert.
These days I am glad when I can leave my bed in the morning without pains in my spine. I told my orthopaedist that I would love to have it operated. So he sent me to have a MRT - which I had taken today with an awful result: The spine looks somehow strangely bent and the canal for the nervs is much too tight and is squeezing my nervs. So I musn't wonder, why everything is painful for me.
Next week I will consult my doctor for advice. But having such a dangerous operation during Corona-times, when so many people are infected .... don't know if that idea is so good!. We will see...
No, I didn´t climb the Bismarck monument and onto the old Chancellor´s shoulders to take the picture of the Knicklandschaft, although that really would have been a very special experience. I got onto the tower which was erected when the hotel-restaurant there was still called Globetrotter Lodge. Now it is the Panorama Hotel. The only problem was the elevator out of function, so I had to use the steps, six floors up. I did it, gasping and waiting several times to get back to normal breathing. The view from above is fantastic. If you look at the picture again, Bismarcks head is visible although almost hidden among the trees in the lower left corner.
When did that happen, the G7 in your actual home area?
Greetings from S-H. Udo
Hi Lerge
re.Cornwall
To be honest I can’t remember where exactly we used to go camping in the summer holidays. I do know that the Minack Theatre was nearby.
That used to be a stress with the whole family and 2 sets of friends driving down from Dorset each summer.
Finding a place on the campsite and putting up the tents. I have pictures where the men red faced worked hard and the woman tending to the children and getting food ready.
We had our bicycles with us and visited many nice places.
Now of course since I have been back in Switzerland after many years of England we have only been back there about 4 times in all the years. We’re planning though to visit our friends in the autumn.
1 set in Swanage the other in Winchester. Maybe the Winchester friends meet us in the Sandbanks between Pool and Swanage with the camper.
Hoping that Covid lets us!
Greetings Yoli

Hello Lerge,
I´m showing you a picture of the staue of famous Otto B. on top of the second highest elevation in Schleswig-Holstein. He is looking north to the Knivsbjerg in Denmark where he used to stand for some years, earlier last century, maybe before 1919.
You can see the statue of Bismarrck is rather tall, his boots are much bigger than my shoes, would have been very risky for me to climb onto his shoulders.
